Enhanced Quick-Detach System for Rapid Adjustability The Testudo design is the carrier of choice for a massive coalition of Free Men. Now, we are honored to present its best and newest model, the Gen 3, featuring the Quick-Detach Buckle System. A cummerbund is great for its precise adjustability; pull it tight to fit you exactly. The downside is that it takes a bit longer to take it off. The QDS fixes that. Pull a cord away from you and the carrier will open on that side for quick removal. Superior Comfort with Padded Design and Adjustable Fit The Testudo Gen 3 is made mostly of 500D Nylon, with bar tacks reinforcing all stress points and PALS webbing covering the outside. MOLLE-compatible webbing for pouches, holsters, and accessories. The generous padding also prevents chafing, making for an armor setup that’s easy to wear for long periods of time. The adjustable shoulder straps, made of nylon, also help you fit the carrier as the low offset makes the rear plate pocket ride at the proper height. Size Guide for Optimal Fit and Coverage Get size Medium if you wear a Small to Large sized shirt, Large for XL to XXL frames or if you are taller than 6’2″ and utilize 11×14″ plates. The cummerbund fits Armored Republic 6×6″ Side Plates. It will not hold 6×8″ Side Plates. This is a very general guide for optimum fit. Carriers can be adjusted further depending on individual need. Please reach out with specific questions to see if there is a solution for you. Cummerbund Sizing The Testudo Gen 3 uses a shock cord cummerbund with quick-detach (QD) buckles. Tightening or loosening the shock cord is how you dial in your fit. If you need more length, the cord can be swapped out for a longer replacement. The QD attachment points on either side of the front plate bag can each be shifted approximately 2 inches outward, giving you up to 4 additional inches of fine-tuning beyond the cord adjustment range. The plate bag on the Medium is roughly 11 inches wide, the large is roughly 12 inches wide, with about 2 inches of overlap at each attachment point. Medium: Fit Total Cummerbund Length Cord fully tightened 27″ Cord fully let out 33″ Shock cord at maximum stretch 37″ To find your fit: Measure around your torso at navel height, then subtract approximately 15″ for the front plate bag (11″ bag + ~2″ overlap on each side). Your result should fall between 27″ and 33″ — that’s your usable adjustment range. The 37″ measurement is the shock cord physically stretched to its limit. Large: Fit Total Cummerbund Length Cord fully tightened 33″ Cord fully let out 38″ Shock cord at maximum stretch 43″ To find your fit: Measure around your torso at navel height, then subtract approximately 16″ for the front plate bag (12″ bag + ~2″ overlap on each side). Your result should fall between 33″ and 38″ — that’s your usable adjustment range. The 43″ measurement is the shock cord physically stretched to its limit and is not a working fit target.
