Terms of Service
Effective 2026-04-18. Last reviewed 2026-04-18.
1. Who this agreement is between
These terms form an agreement between you and Armor Systems (“we,” “our,” “us”) governing your use of the website at armor-os.com and related services. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these terms.
2. Who may use Armor Systems
The service is intended for professional use by law-enforcement agencies, procurement officers, Facility Security Officers, authorized dealers and manufacturers of body armor, researchers, journalists, and adults with a legitimate interest in body-armor compliance, policy, and markets.
You must be at least 18 years old. Registration and verification steps may be required for portions of the service.
3. The tier model
Access to some features is graduated by verification tier (Anonymous, Registered, Verified Industry, SME, Admin). Verified Industry status requires valid credential review. You agree not to misrepresent your role or use another person’s credentials to access a tier you are not entitled to.
4. Regulatory information is not legal advice
Armor Systems publishes editorial summaries of federal and state regulations, grant cycles, and product certifications. This content is informational and journalistic in nature — it is not legal, procurement, compliance, or investment advice. Laws and standards change. Always confirm current requirements with the authoritative source (the statute, the NOFO, the NIJ CPL, your counsel) before making a decision that depends on it. We cite our sources so you can check.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable law, including export-control and end-user regulations.
- Impersonate another person or organization, or falsely claim an agency or credential.
- Scrape, resell, or redistribute the content in bulk without a written license. Reasonable excerpt with attribution is fine; mirroring the site is not.
- Upload malware, attempt to interfere with the service, probe for vulnerabilities outside a responsible-disclosure program, or attempt to access other users’ accounts or data.
- Use the platform to solicit, harass, dox, or threaten other members. The forum is moderated; behavior that endangers colleagues gets you banned without notice.
- Use the directory or intelligence products to target individuals or agencies for abuse, intimidation, or unlawful conduct.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of content you submit (forum posts, comments, corrections). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and publish your submissions on the service. You represent that you have the right to submit the content and that the submission does not violate anyone else’s rights.
7. Our content
Articles, guides, briefs, the compliance database, the dealer and agency directories, and the interactive maps are our intellectual property or the property of our licensors. You may view, link to, and quote short passages with attribution for non-commercial purposes. Other uses require written permission.
8. Third-party links
We link to statutes, regulators, cooperative contracts, manufacturers, and trade resources. Those sites operate under their own terms and we are not responsible for their content or availability.
9. Paid features
Core features are free during the platform’s community-building phase. Paid features (premium analytics, API access, enterprise dashboards) will be offered under separate commercial terms and will be clearly labeled. We will not move a free feature behind a paywall without giving meaningful notice.
10. Termination
You can close your account at any time via the contact form. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with cause. For paid features, we honor any pre-paid period or refund the unused portion.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep the information current and accurate, but we do not warrant it is error-free, complete, or uninterrupted. Use your professional judgment.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Armor Systems will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, or for any damages exceeding, in the aggregate, one hundred dollars (US$100) or the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Armor Systems from claims arising out of your violation of these terms or your misuse of the service.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be filed in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
15. Changes
When we change these terms materially, we update the “Effective” date and post notice on the site. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms.
16. Contact
Questions about these terms go to our contact form or [email protected].
