NIJ decertifies all Zylon-containing body armor models

Following a year-long investigation, NIJ withdrew compliance status from every body armor model containing any amount of Zylon (poly-p-phenylenebenzobisoxazole, PBO). Second Chance, Armor Holdings, and others were affected. NIJ 0101.04 revision was insufficient; this directly drove the NIJ 0101.06 standard with new environmental conditioning protocol.
